10.2 Structural Limitations of Existing Platforms
Existing platforms, both in Web2 and Web3, are fundamentally constrained in their ability to address this gap.
Decentralized exchanges are optimized for fungible financial assets and are not designed to support narrative-driven economies such as ACG IP. Their architecture lacks the ability to onboard IP, manage community dynamics, or reflect cultural demand through market mechanisms.
Conversely, Web2 platforms within the ACG ecosystem are built around centralized monetization models. They control distribution and revenue streams but do not provide ownership or liquidity to either IP holders or fans. Their incentive structures are misaligned with long-term ecosystem growth, as they prioritize platform revenue over community value.
Attempting to extend either of these systems into the domain of ACG financialization would require a fundamental reconfiguration of their core architecture and business models. As such, they are not positioned to lead this transition.
